June 2019 Meeting Minutes

The meeting of the High Country Handiworkers was called to order at 7:05 p.m. on June 10, 2019 by President Brooke Carlson.

The pledges were led by Morgan Copeland and Bella Kendrot.

Roll call was taken by Secretary Grace Gray and the question asked was, “What project are you most excited about for fair?”

Lizzy Fetzer moved to approve the minutes as posted on the club’s website. Seconded and APPROVED.

The treasurer’s report was given by Lizzy Fetzer: checking = $5,943.42, savings = $3,955.51.

The reporter’s report was given by Walker Cameron. May’s meeting report was submitted to the Coloradoan and Reporter-Herald as well as social media and the club’s website.

The sunshine report was presented by Eden Copeland. We had two June birthdays. It was also announced that JD Becker recently graduated from Thompson Valley High School, and former club members Nathan Meiners and Hannah Brunswick also graduated high school. The club got to meet our newest future members, Mackinzie Hummel and Tucker Copeland born in February and March.

Leaders Report:

County shoots are coming up.

The Premium Book for fair is now available online.

Entry forms for fair are due by July 15.

Record Book and Project Workshops for Shooting Sports are June 19 and July 17 at 6:00 p.m. Cindy will attend and all club members are welcome to attend for assistance, not just shooting sports.

Livestock Record Book Workshop is July 10th at 6:30 p.m.

Old Business
:

McKee Building Painting Community Service – The McKee Building painting is going to be rescheduled.

Demonstration Night – Signups for Demonstration Night on June 21 are on the club website.

Fair Parade Theme – July 27 is the Larimer County Parade. The float will be created at Cindy’s shop on July 26. The following parents offered their services in coming up with float ideas: Karley Rivera, Amanda Kendrot, Tracie Porter, and Phylicia Mann.

New Business:

Discounted Rodeo Tickets and Wristbands – An order form is under Signups on the club website. The deadline is July 22.

  • Keira Cornett, Performing her dance solo from the Performing Arts Contest.
  • Hailey McCrimmon,  Soil acidity and how she qualified for National Congress with her Gardening project.
  • Jessie McCrimmon, How to make your garden bee friendly.
  • Bella Kendrot, Agility with her dog Lucy.

Sydney Gray moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded and APPROVED. Meeting adjourned at 8:28 p.m.
