March 2024 Meeting Minutes

The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m. on March 11, 2024 by President Josh Ryan at the McKee Building at The Ranch.

The pledges were led by Paige Box, Summer Box, Cameron Keehn, Levi Shrout, Basil Price, Lucy Shrout, Harley Anzaldua.

Roll call procedure: Please take your name tag from the alphabetized file box at the start of the meeting. At the end of the meeting, drop the name tags in the buckets at the exits of the room.

Paige Box moved to approve the minutes from February as submitted by Eden Copeland and posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED. Josh asked for a volunteer to take notes for this meeting, since Eden Copeland was not in attendance. Abigail McNear volunteered.

Treasurer Gideon Rivera presented the treasurer’s report. The checking account’s balance is $2,190.64, the savings account balance is $5,593.83, and the CD balance is $2,157.42. We received $28.24 in interest in March.

Willow Cameron presented the reporter’s report. She submitted the February meeting report to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, The Coloradoan, the Berthoud Surveyor, and our club’s website and social media. The club was featured in the Loveland paper three times last month.

Paige Box and Wesley Anzaldua led the sunshine report for the March birthdays. There were cards circulated for members to sign: a get-well card for Diane Kern and a thank you card for Shavawn Cornett for making carnival booth signs.

At the February Cloverbud meeting, the Cloverbuds made ladybugs for Valentine’s Day. The next meeting will be on March 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Leader’s Report: 

Paid Parking at The Ranch – Sharel Cameron talked about the new paid parking at the Ranch for ticketed events. It scans and gathers license plate information. When there is a 4-H event at the same time as a ticketed event, we’ll gather the Name, State of License Plate, and License Plate Number for all 4-H families in attendance, so that families will not receive a bill.

Rob Ryan explained the importance of the Clover Connection, calendar, club website, club emails, and attending meetings.

Visual Arts – No report for this month.

Foods – There is a field trip on March 19 to MouCo Cheese Company. The sign up is on the website. On April 1 there will be a joint meeting with Beekeeping. Bring an item with honey as an ingredient to share with the group. A new leader for 2024–2025 needs to be recruited. It’s a good time to start attending meetings and training.

Scrapbooking – Leader Barb Hummel is hosting project meetings at her home on March 16 and April 13 at 9:00 a.m. Bring a picture of your mom to the March meeting.

Clothing – There is an orientation on March 30 at 9:00 a.m. at the McKee 4-H Building. Bring your sewing machine.

Junior Leadership Club – The club will be holding officer training on April 17. Any members interested in learning more about holding an office is invited to attend. There will be dinner as well. The club is taking applications for project scholarships. The due date is April 1.

Dog – Hailey McNear reported that the next dog class is March 25, and the dog expo is on April 7. Registration is $10.

Shooting Sports – The Annual Safety Meetings on Zoom are complete and orientations are coming up for all disciplines. Some disciplines have started practices, and disciplines with outdoor practices will begin soon.

Rob Ryan gave the parli pro report about the importance of the club calendar and coming to meetings. He also went over the statement “I move…” when making a motion.

Old Business:

4-H Carnival Tickets – Tickets and funds need to be turned in ASAP.

4-H Carnival Baskets – The  Outdoor basket sold for $425, the Cooking basket sold for $275, the LEGO basket sold for $365, the gorilla sold for $185, one teddy bear sold for $95, and the other teddy bear sold for $55.

4-H Carnival Game Booths – We had 7 club game booths and 2 Shooting Sports game booths. The total number of tickets collected per booth are: Lollipop Pull 1,740 tickets, Iron Man 2,240 tickets, Rubber Band Shoot 1,513 tickets, Toilet Paper Toss 1,854 tickets, Plinko 1,114 tickets, Smack the Quack 633 tickets, Pluck the Duck 1,485 tickets, Skee Ball 1,997 tickets, Ammo Pull 1,362 tickets.

4-H Carnival Improvements – The club discussed some things that could be improved for 2025.

  1. Having backers behind the throwing games.
  2. Making Skee Ball and Ammo Pull harder.
  3. Sharing information on how to work booths when signing up.
  4. Repair Smack the Quack and Pluck the Duck equipment including floating ducks and bean bags.
  5. Organize the stuffed animal prizes into small, medium, and large before carnival. Put in boxes instead of bags.
  6. Having people sign up to be ticket runner and prize runner.
  7. Getting a paper leaderboard/easel for Iron Man instead of white board.
  8. Have fewer people working some of the booths like Iron Man and TP Toss.
  9.  Having a punch ticket for the jumbo prize. If you get a certain amount of punches you get a Jumbo prize.
  10. Refilling the lollipop and ammo pull when people can’t see where they’re being placed.
  11. Need a bigger trough for the Pluck a Duck and buy new or repair the ducks.
  12. Need more hooks to hang signs.
  13. Make new TP rolls to toss.
  14. Split coordinator job between multiple people.
  15. Little Iron Man, too difficult for littles to ring and win. The only successful ones used the big hammer.
  16. Look at dampening the Iron Man so it’s not so loud.

The club applauded Suzanne Leypoldt, who was the coordinator of the booths and prizes at the Carnival for the entire day.

New Business:

Club PayPal and Venmo – Our club has PayPal and Venmo accounts that can be used for payment for carnival tickets or for donations. Links are on the website.

Club Shirt Orders – Our club orders shirts for all members and leaders every other year. This is not an order year, but we’ll have an order form for new members and anyone who would like to pay for a new shirt. Watch for the form to be posted in April.

Parade Theme – The parade theme for this year was proposed by a former member family a few years ago. The theme will be Fun for the Whole Herd. Our club should start thinking of float ideas.

February 2024 Meeting Minutes

Willow Cameron moved to approve the minutes from January as submitted by Eden Copeland and posted on the club website. The motion was seconded. However, during discussion, Josh Ryan spoke up about a typo—Paige was spelled as “Paid.” There was no further discussion. Paige Box moved to approve the minutes with the revision. This motion was seconded and APPROVED.

Kinzie Copeland, Paige Box, and Wesley Anzaldua led the sunshine report for the February birthdays. Happy birthday, members! There were cards circulated for members to sign: a get-well card for Heather Best, a congratulations card for Brooke Carlson, and a congratulations card for Josh Ryan. Eden Copeland also read a card of congratulations from the Larimer County 4-H Foundation for being a club for 44 years.

The Cloverbuds did not have a meeting last month due to the weather. Check the club website for updates on future Cloverbud meetings.

Leader’s Report: 

Paid Parking at The Ranch – Sharel Cameron talked about the new paid parking at the Ranch for ticketed events at Blue Arena (Budweiser Event Center). It will use scanners to gather license plate information, similar to driving on E-470 or other toll roads. When a 4-H event takes place at the same time as a ticketed event, we will gather the Name, State of License Plate, and License Plate Number for all 4-H families in attendance. Otherwise, families will receive a bill. We will have a form to handwrite your information, or an online form to fill out while at the event.

Rob Ryan explained the importance of the Clover Connection, calendar, club website, and club emails. These resources allow the members and their families to be informed about workshops, competitions, registration, projects, and other 4-H-related information.

Visual Arts – No report for this month.

Foods – At the February Foods project meeting, they made spring rolls. There will be no meeting in March. There will be a field trip to MouCo Cheese Company in Fort Collins on March 19 at 10:00 a.m. All members are invited, but attendance is limited, so reserve a spot on Signups. Amy Gebhardt will be stepping down as the food project leader at the end of this 4-H year. We encourage any parents who are interested in being the leader of Foods to attend meetings and learn more about volunteering.

Scrapbooking – Leader Barb Hummel is hosting a project meeting at her home on February 24 at 9:30 a.m.

Clothing – Hanna Copeland spoke about plans for upcoming workshops. The next workshop will be on March 9, focusing on fabric and patterns. There will be another workshop on March 30 which will focus on Unit 1. If you are interested in the clothing project, Hanna is happy to answer questions. If you are enrolled in Clothing, watch for an email with more information.

Junior Leadership Club – Gideon Rivera talked about the Junior Leadership Club. It is for members ages 13 years and older. This club runs the Dairy Bar, Achievement Night, and the Junior Jam. The next meeting will be February 26. It is a great leadership opportunity.

Dog – Hailey McNear reported that there will be a dog expo on April 7. It is $10 to register on 4HOnline.

Shooting Sports – The next Annual Safety Meeting on Zoom will be held on March 8. This is the last opportunity to complete this mandatory meeting. Check the calendar on the Shooting Sports website and ask Sharel Cameron about any Shooting Sports questions you might have. The club is planning a hunter education class for April 20 and 21. It will be an internet conclusion course, so start the online course now.

Rob Ryan gave the parli pro report. He discussed why Parliamentary Procedure is important and how it will influence your life in the future. The example Rob Ryan used was voting in elections.

Old Business:

Community Service at Courtyard Assisted Living – Sarah Rodden talked about how she and Heather Leppert can find community service opportunities at assisted living homes. They just need people to be interested and willing to spend the time to help.

Club Enrollment – Enrollment opened on October 16 and closes on February 1, 2024 for returning members and March 1, 2024 for new members. Enrollment is on v2.4HOnline.com. Payment CANNOT be made through 4HOnline, but the system requires you to click the Pay by Check button. Then you can either pay the extension office onine or with a check.

4-H Carnival Tickets – 4-H Carnival Tickets are available for returning members and new members who are enrolled. Each member is asked to sell 25 tickets to be eligible for financial assistance and scholarships from the Larimer County 4-H Foundation. Selling tickets is also a great way to spread the word about 4-H. The tickets are only $1 each. We recapped how selling tickets at King Soopers went. The Lepperts led this report and sold many tickets. We will be selling tickets on February 17 at King Soopers again. If you still need to pick up tickets or need additional tickets, please see Hanna Copeland at the end of this meeting.

4-H Carnival Baskets – We are doing three baskets for the live auction at the carnival. We voted a couple of months ago on the basket themes: Outdoors, Cooking, and LEGO. Please bring donation items to fill these baskets.

4-H Carnival Game Booths – Every year our club provides games, booths, and volunteers for the carnival. Our club is going to run 7 booths. These booths are Plinko, Smack the Quack, Pluck the Duck, Toilet Paper Toss, Iron Man, Rubber Band Shoot, and Lollipop Pull. President Josh Ryan, Vice President Hailey McNear, and Secretary Eden Copeland explained the games to the club. To run these games, we need members and parents to volunteer. The SignUpGenius is available. We also have many Shooting Sports members and they are encouraged to sign up to work the two Shooting Sports carnival booths: Ammo Pull and Skee Pull.

New Business:

Livestock MQA (Meat Quality Assurance) Training – MQA will be on February 24 from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. There are presentations and then a mandatory test for members to show livestock at the county fair. If this is your first year in a livestock project, you must attend. Members must attend once as a Junior member (4-H ages 8–13) and once again as a Senior member (4-H ages 14–18)

Club PayPal and Venmo – Our club has PayPal and Venmo accounts that can be used for payment for carnival tickets if members have buyers who are not local. Go to the club website to find the links, and have buyers put the member’s name in the comment section.

Carnival Ticket Boxes – Josh Ryan asked for volunteers to make ticket boxes out of shoe boxes to gather the game coupons at the carnival. Boxes must have removable lids to gather the coupons easily. Caia Smith, Madelyn Leppert, Paige Box, Katelyn Irvine, and Basil Price volunteered to make boxes.

Transporting Carnival Games – We need parents with trailers and pickups to move games from storage to the First National Bank Building the night before the carnival, March 1. We also need an enclosed trailer to haul the prizes. Jennifer Seefeldt volunteered her trailer to transport the games. Matt Irvine and Heather Leppert volunteered vehicles.

There will be a field trip to MouCo Cheese Company in Fort Collins on March 19 at 10:00 a.m. All members are invited, but attendance is limited, so reserve a spot when the SignupGenius is available. Amy Gebhardt will be stepping down as the food project leader next year. We encourage any parents who are interested in being the leader for Foods to attend meetings and learn more about volunteering.

Junior Leadership Club – Karley Fitzgerald-Rivera talked about the Junior Leadership Club. It is for members ages 13 years and older. This club runs the Dairy Bar, Achievement Night, Junior Jam. The next meeting will be January 22. It is a great leadership opportunity.

Dog – Hailey McNear reported that orientation for the dog project will be held on January 29 at 6:00 p.m. She encouraged members to think about the project to get experience with their dogs. Dog training will start on February 12.

Shooting Sports – The required Annual Safety Meetings on Zoom will be held on February 2 and March 8. Check the calendar on the shooting sports website.

Rob Ryan gave the parli pro report. He discussed what Parliamentary Procedure entails and what it is. We talked about who our officers are and addressing them. We talked about motions specifically, and how and why we do them. Parliamentary Procedure is the method by which the members run the club.

Murdoch’s Gift Wrapping – Nikki McNear recapped how the gift wrapping went at Murdoch’s. The club worked three shifts and received $529 in donations. It was pointed out that we had a majority of members vote to do this project, so there should have been more than three families participating. If you vote yes, you need to be able to volunteer.

New Business:

Club PayPal and Venmo – Our club has a PayPal and Venmo account to use for fundraising opportunities such as the Murdoch’s gift wrapping.

4-H Carnival Game Booths – Every year our club provides games, booths, and volunteers for the carnival. We usually do 4 booths and we discussed how many booths to do this year. Hailey McNear moved to increase the number of booths. This was seconded and then the motion was revised by Hailey to increase the number of booths to 6 booths. The motion was seconded. After discussion, Ethan Osusky moved to add 3 more booths totaling 7 booths. This was seconded and the motion was APPROVED. Then we voted on how many tickets each booth should charge. For Plinko, Smack the Quack, and Duck Pull, there was a discussion about whether these booths should be 2 or 3 tickets. Members voted for Smack the Quack to be 3 tickets, and Duck Pull and Plinko to be 2 tickets. There was a discussion on whether to increase the Toilet Paper Toss from 3 to 4 tickets. Walker Cameron moved to make the game 4 tickets. It was seconded, but by vote, it was denied. We will be keeping the Toilet Paper Toss at 3 tickets. The Iron Man will stay at 4 tickets. The Rubber Band Shoot will stay at 3 tickets, and the Lollipop Pull will stay at 2 tickets.

There were no demonstrations.

Community Service: After the meeting, members wrapped gifts for the Foster and Adoptive Families of Larimer County.

November 2023 Meeting Minutes

The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. on November 13, 2023 by President Josh Ryan at the McKee Building at The Ranch.

The pledges were led by Basil Price, Kennedy Jo Rodden, Paige Box, Nolan Osusky, Ethan Osusky, Willow Cameron, Caden Powell, Bohdan Leppert, and Madelin Leppert.

Roll call procedure: Please take your nametag from the alphabetized file box at the start of the meeting. At the end of the meeting, drop the name tags in the buckets at the exits of the room.

Willow Cameron moved to approve the minutes from October as submitted by Eden Copeland and posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.

Treasurer Gideon Rivera presented the treasurer’s report. The checking account’s balance is $1,188.64, the savings account balance is $5,593.13, and the CD balance is $2,115.89.

There was no reporter’s report.

Willow Cameron and Charlie Gilmore led the sunshine report for the November birthdays. Happy birthday, everyone! The club signed cards for club members who are aging out of 4-H: Kassie Lines, Nate Rogers, and Tait Simpson.

The Cloverbuds made pumpkins with their handprints, played Bingo, and had lots of fun at their October meeting.

Leader’s Report: 

Paid Parking at The Ranch – Sharel Cameron talked about the new paid parking at the Ranch for ticketed events at Blue Arena (Budweiser Event Center). It will use scanners to gather license plate information, similar to driving on E-470 or other toll roads. When a 4-H event takes place at the same time as a ticketed event, we will gather the Name, State of License Plate, and License Plate Number for all 4-H families in attendance. Otherwise, families will receive a bill. We will have a form to handwrite your information, or an online form to fill out while at the event.

Clover Connection – Once you are enrolled, you will start getting the Clover Connection newsletter. It has important dates, workshop info, and general info.

Calendar – Look at the calendar so that you won’t miss any important dates like workshops for projects or required safety training for shooting sports.

Workshops – Workshops will start happening in the new year. Workshops are easy ways to get help on your project and can help you choose which projects you want to do this year.

Visual Arts – Karley Fitzgerald-Rivera talked about the Visual Arts project meetings that will begin in January on the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

Foods – Foods leader Amy Gebhardt was not present. The next meeting for the Foods project will be December 4 at 6:00 p.m. at the McKee Building. Bring a holiday dish to share if you wish.

Photography – No report.

Beekeeping – No report.

Scrapbooking – No report.

Clothing – Hanna Copeland spoke about plans for upcoming workshops. The first workshop will be in January. If you are interested in the clothing project, she is happy to answer questions. If you are enrolled in Clothing, watch for an email with more information.

Junior Leadership Club – Gideon Rivera talked about the club for members ages 13 years and older. The club runs the Dairy Bar, Achievement Night, Junior Jam.

Dog – Hailey McNear reported that orientation for the dog project will be held on January 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ranch. She encouraged members to think about the project to get experience with their dogs.

Shooting Sports – Premiums from county shoots are available now. The required Annual Safety Meetings on Zoom will be held on February 2 and March 8. Check the calendar on the shooting sports website Leaders who might be interested in becoming certified in shooting sports should enroll now. Becoming a leader requires a background check and references and takes a little time. The dates for certification trainings have been set, and registration will open early in 2024.

Rob Ryan gave the parli pro report. We discussed the roles of the officers, what a nomination is, and how officer elections will work at the December meeting.

Old Business:

Community Service at Courtyard Assisted Living – Sarah Rodden spoke about opportunities at the Courtyard Assisted Living Facility in Loveland. Families are invited to volunteer to help (craft projects, Easter candy, Valentines, cards). Less interaction than creative projects.

Lon Hagler Community Service – There was discussion about completing a community service project painting benches at Lon Hagler this year or waiting until Spring. Hailey McNear moved to wait until the spring. Seconded and APPROVED.

Club Enrollment – Enrollment opened on October 16 and closes on February 1, 2024 for returning members and March 1, 2024 for new members. Enrollment is on v2.4HOnline.com. Payment CANNOT be made through 4HOnline, but the system requires you to click the Pay by Check button. Then you can either pay the extension office onine or with a check.

New Business:

4-H Foundation Craft Show – The Foundation is hosting a craft fair on December 2 and 3.

Wrapping Presents for Foster and Adoptive Families of Larimer County – We have wrapped presents for the Christmas party for many years. This would be done at the December meeting. Hailey McNear moved to do the project this year. Seconded and APPROVED.

Murdoch’s Fort Collins Gift Wrapping – We have an opportunity for a fundraiser/community service project at Murdoch’s. The store is offering free gift wrapping to customers. They will supply supplies and our club keeps any tips. Nikki McNear volunteered to spearhead, and will choose dates for a signup to be posted soon.

4-H Carnival Tickets – Will be available at the December meeting.

Officer Elections – Elections for officers for 2024 will be held at the December meeting. Please think about whether you’d like to run for office and come to the meeting prepared to talk about why you are running.

Add Signer to Club Bank Accounts – Hanna Copeland has volunteered to be a signer on the club’s bank accounts. Walker Cameron moved to add Hanna Copeland. Seconded and APPROVED.

Club Achievement Night – Awards were passed out to the club members and leaders.

Rob Ryan announced that there would be a short informational meeting for the adults about our club’s status after the club meeting.

Willow Cameron and Charlie Gilmore led the sunshine report for the September and October birthdays. The club signed get-well cards for Suzanne Leypoldt, a club leader who recently had surgery.

The Cloverbuds leader Lacey Adams and junior leader Wesley Anzaldua talked about the July meeting. The Cloverbuds made their fair projects: flower pots decorated with stickers and paper flowers.

Leader’s Report:

Community Service Projects – Our community service projects are currently on hold.

Fair Parade – Hanna Copeland reported on the parade and the club floats. We had good attendance and the kids had fun. One parent thought we should look at getting a larger trailer next year.

Projects Available for Pickup – Projects and record books that were not picked up from county or state fair were available at the meeting.

4-H Open House – Our club hosted a table at the open house on October 5. There was a steady stream of families and a lot of interest from families.

Club Charter – The club charter was revised, submitted, and accepted. The revised bylaws will be posted on the club website.

New Business:

Enrollment – Enrollment opens for the new year on October 16, 2023 on v2.4HOnline.com. Deadlines are February 1 for returning members and March 1 for new members. More information will be posted on the hch4h.org website. Leaders are encouraged to enroll right away. New leaders can start the approval process including references and a background check.

Achievement Night – The Larimer County 4-H Achievement Night is on November 3, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall at the McKee Building. Our club achievement night will be on November 13, 2023 at our club meeting.

4-H Foundation Craft Show – The Foundation is hosting a craft fair on December 2 and 3. Booth space is available at a discount for 4-H members and leaders.

Storage Space – Construction Supply House is offering to store all our club’s supplies and materials for $1 per year. Walker Cameron moved to rent the space for $1 per year. Seconded and APPROVED.

  • Willow Cameron: How to make a cleaning stand for .22 Rifle.

July 2023 Meeting Minutes

The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:11 p.m. on July 10, 2023 by President Josh Ryan at the McKee Building at The Ranch.

The pledges were led by Levi Shrout, Lucy Shrout, and Glorianna Shrout, Rosalee Moore, John Moore, Reagan Stewart, and Lillian Stewart.

Roll call procedure: Please take your nametag from the alphabetized file box at the start of the meeting, when you grab your agenda and Parli Pro book. Then at the end of the meeting, drop the name tags in the buckets at the exits of the room. Cindy asked whether this procedure was working. It was said that this procedure is much faster than reading everyone’s names. However, it also makes it hard to put faces with names. It was suggested that maybe we should create a membership directory. We will continue with the current roll call procedure.

Maddi Jessen moved to approve the minutes from June as submitted by Eden Copeland and posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.

Treasurer Gideon Rivera presented the treasurer’s report. In the checking account, we have $1,149.80, in the savings account we have $5,592.42 and the CD has $2,102.64.

Willow Cameron and Charlie Gilmore led the sunshine report for the July, August, and September birthdays. The club signed cards for Rex, Jamie, and Nate Rogers. It’s Nate’s last year in 4-H and he is going to college, and leaders Jamie and Rex are moving to Kansas. They will be missed!

Cindy recognized four members who attended every club meeting from October through July: Abby McNear, Hailey McNear, Willow Cmeron, and Josh Ryan.

The Cloverbuds talked about hunter’s education. They shot rubberband guns in shoot/no shoot scenarios, received a Cloverbud hunter’s education card, and played BINGO. The last Cloverbud meeting for this year will be on Monday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m., where they will make projects for the county fair.

Leader’s Report: 

Construction at The Ranch – The new Arena Circle is open. Watch for other traffic changes at the Ranch.

e-Records – If you still need help or have questions, reach out to Cindy. Parents: If your kids have special needs or learning challenges, place an index card with that information in the front of the record book to let the judge know.

Dress Code – Remember to follow the dress code for all 4-H events, including the county fair.

Club Shirts – Shirts are in and available at the meeting.

Interview Judging – Interview Judging day is August 1. If you did not schedule an interview, bring your project to the McKee Building by 10:00 a.m. or make arangements with Cindy to bring it.

Visual Arts – The group had its last meeting for this 4-H year on July 10. If you have questions before fair, contact Karley Rivera.

Scrapbooking – No report.

Beekeeping – There is a Prepare for Fair meeting on Wednesday, July 12. There will be a hive inspection on Thursday, July 13. There is also a field trip to Fort Collins Nursery on Friday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m.

Fashion Revue – There is a workshop on July 10 at 6:30 p.m. The Fashion Revue will be on July 26 at 7:00 p.m.

Junior Leadership Club – Dairy Bar signup will be coming. It’s the JLC’s main fundraiser. Counts as community service for our club members. If you’re interested, JLC is for those age 14+ who are interested in building leadersh skills and earning scholarship money.

Dog – Hailey McNear talked about needing help with set-up and at the registration for the dog show.

The parli pro report by Rob Ryan talked about the responsibility when voting. Before deciding to vote in favor of something, make sure you can volunteer. This means asking your parents, and following through on what you are voting for. For the July 4th Parking fundraiser, the majority of the club approved, but only two families signed up.

Old Business:

Community Service at Courtyard Assisted Living – Sarah Rodden would like to schedule something each month with a theme: Valentines, reading partners, planting flowers, Easter. They have fewer than 35 residents.

Fair Parade Committee – The committee is made up of Hanna Copeland, Karley Fitzgerald-Rivera, Felicia Snyder, and Barb Hummel, Lorinda DeLeau. The theme is “Through the Decades.” We will construct the float on July 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Construction Supply House. We will have pizza, Cindy will sign record books, and we will decorate. For the parade day on July 29, we have a trailer, but need a vehicle able to pull the gooseneck—Cumpstens volunteered. We will have water available and candy to pass out. The Cloverbuds will have their own float. Make sure you sign the liability waiver so you can participate in the parade.

July 4th Parking Fundraiser – At the last meeting, we voted to help sell parking spots on the 4th of July. Felicia Snyder reported that the club earned about $230 that day.

New Business:

Lon Hagler Community Service – This community service did not happen due to rain. We will schedule a date after fair, so watch for more information.

Discounted Rodeo Tickets and Carnival Wristbands – Tickets for 4-H Night at the rodeo are $14. Our club sits together and we wear our club shirts. There are also discounts on the other nights of the rodeo and carnival wristbands for unlimited rides on one day or the entire fair. Go to the club website for the order form.

Hannah Jones moved to approve the minutes from May as submitted by Eden Copeland and posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.

Willow Cameron led the sunshine report for the June birthdays. Cindy read thank you cards that we had received. Sympathy cards were passed around and signed for Jim and Jackie Easthouse. Sympathy cards for Kate Ulam and get-well cards for David McConnell were also signed.

The Cloverbuds met at the park at the Berthoud Rec Center and built birdhouses out of toilet paper rolls and bird seed.

Club Shirts – Our order of club t-shirts and hoodies arrived and were sorted by volunteers Hanna Copeland and Suzanne Leypoldt.

Fair Entry – Fairy Entry is open. Members log in using the same info as their 4HOnline family account. This year, entries for projects that offer an interview should ask if members want to schedule an interview when entering each project. The fair entry deadline is July 7.

e-Record Requirements – Both a demonstration and community service are required in the e-Record and to complete the project year.

Visual Arts – There was no meeting for June. The next meeting is Monday, July 10 at 5:30 p.m.

Beekeeping – There will be a hive inspection on Wednesday, June 14. There will also be a workshop on June 20 at 6:00 p.m.

Photography – There is no meeting in June.

Scrapbooking – There is a meeting on Friday, June 16 at 1:00 p.m. at leader Barb Hummel’s home.

Foods – The meeting for July will be on Monday, July 3 at 6:00 p.m. We’ll celebrate with foods that are red, white, and blue.

Clothing – There are no further workshops scheduled. If you need help with your project, reach out to Hanna Copeland.

Fashion Revue – A workshop will be on Monday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m. The Fashion Revue is on July 26 from 7:00 p.m.

Dog – There will be a dog fun match on June 25. Bring your dog.

Foster and Adoptive Families Community Service – From June 28–July 4, there will be community service for Foster and Adoptive Families. Watch for the SignUpGenius to come.

Contests – For upcoming contests, you do not have to be enrolled in the project to compete. For the Fashion Revue, members must be enrolled in a project and make something they can wear. Cloverbuds are invited to participate in the Fashion Revue as well.

Mandatory Meeting for Livestock Sale – There are two opportunities to attend the mandatory meeting for members participating in the livestock sale. The dates are June 25 and July 9 at 4:00 p.m.
