Sewing Orientation / April 20, 2024

We will be having a clothing construction workshop this Saturday, April 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Timnath/Laporte rooms of the McKee 4-H Building.

We will be sewing a pillowcase. You will need 1 yard of material (make sure it is at least 50% cotton) and thread to match. You will also need a sewing machine, or let me know if you need one and Cari can bring one from the extension office. Don’t forget a bobbin for your machine! You can bring your box of basic sewing items with you, too. We will have rotary cutters, mats, and irons for you to use.

You are always welcome to bring your own project if you do not want to sew a pillowcase and we can help as needed.

Let me know if you have any questions. Please RSVP to Hanna at pigs022002@yahoo.com and let her know if you are planning to be there.

Sewing Orientation / March 30, 2024

On Saturday, March 30 at 9:00 a.m. at the McKee 4-H Building in the Fort Collins/Loveland room, we are holding an orientation for unit 1, first-time members. We will be going over helpful items for the project and items that might be handy to have in your sewing kits. Please bring your sewing machine. You can bring thread for your machine and a bobbin if you would like. You will not need fabric for this orientation.

If you are not a first-time member, you are welcome to bring a project to work on. Cari and Hanna will be available for questions.

Sewing Project Information Night

Are you considering joining any of the 4-H Sewing projects or already enrolled in Sewing?

Join us on Wednesday, November 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the McKee Building at The Ranch.

We’ll offer an introduction to the various sewing projects offered, begin learning sewing basics, and get some tips for what to work on over the upcoming holiday breaks!

This workshop is relevant for all sewing project members (including Clothing Construction and Artistic Clothing), but would be most useful to members in their 1st–3rd years in the project and those considering joining these projects.

If you have a sewing machine you can bring, please bring it. We have some extra sewing machines available for those who cannot bring their own, but please note this in the comment when you sign up.

At this workshop, we will review the various sewing projects, resources and tips, important dates, expectations for members and parents, and so much more!
