The meeting of High Country Handiworkers was called to order at 7:06 p.m. on November 11, 2019 by President Brooke Carlson. The meeting was held in the Exhibit Hall of the McKee Building at The Ranch.
The pledges were led by Cael Claude and Clara Coats
Roll call was taken by Secretary Grace Gray with the question, “What’s your favorite cookie?”
Cael moved to approve the July minutes as posted on the club website. Seconded and APPROVED. Cael then moved to approve the October minutes as posted on the club website. Seconded and APPROVED.
Secretary Grace Gray read two thank you cards the club received for sponsoring county fair awards.
The treasurer’s report was given by Lizzy Fetzer: checking = $1,176.04. savings = $3,956.30.
The sunshine report was led by Eden Copeland and Cael Claude. We had two November birthdays.
Cindy gave the Cloverbud report. The Cloverbuds made bird feeders out of pine cones and they also turned pens with the rest of the club on November 3.
Leader’s Report:
Enrollment – Started on October16 and ends on February 1 for returning members. New members can enroll through March 16.
Cake Decorating Manual – There are new cake decorating project manuals this year and project options have been expanded.
Old Business:
Turning Pens for the Troops – Delaney Newby reported that the Pen Turning for the Veterans was awesome and the club made a lot of pens as a community service project on November 3, 2019.
New Business:
The club did excellent at fair!
Painting the McKee Building – There will be a community service project to paint the interior of McKee Building on December 7. There will be a SignUpGenius on the club website.
Demonstrations:

- Andrea Newby, Stages of a goat’s gestation,
- Morgan Copeland, How to put an elastic waistband in a skirt,
- Eden Copeland, Tools used in leathercraft.
Club Achievement Night:
Club Leader Cindy Buckardt presented members with their certificates of completion for 2019 and livestock record book awards. She also recognized Nate Rogers and Nick Freeland for their outstanding performance in Shooting Sports and qualifying for Nationals, Brooke for being selected for National Congress and winning Leadership awards, and Delaney and Andrea for winning the Congeniality Award at County Achievement Night.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Seconded and APPROVED.
