March 2021 Meeting Minutes

The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. on March 8, 2021 by President Josh Ryan. The meeting was held on Zoom.

Roll call was taken by Cindy Buckardt.

The pledges were lead by Soren Donnelly, Cora Cox, and Kathryn Cox.

The secretary’s report was posted on the club website. Walker Cameron moved to approve the minutes for both January and February. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.

Clara Coats presented the treasurer report: checking = $3,632.32, savings account = $3,965.24, CD = $2,060.82.

CharLee Davis was absent so we didn’t have a reporter’s report.

Wyatt Grundy and Kathryn Cox led the sunshine report for four birthdays and we sang.

Cloverbuds can now start meeting in person. The next meeting will be March 15 at 6:30 p.m.

Leader’s Report: 

McKee Building Status – We will learn at the end of March if we can be in the McKee Building by May 1.

Exchange Club – The exchange club has an opening for one male and one female for the virtual exchange with Minnesota. Members need to be 13-years and older. Contact Cindy for information.

Scholarship Deadline – Applications for Larimer County 4-H Foundation scholarships are due March 20.

Project Leaders – Projects can begin meeting at Cindy’s shop. Project leaders will schedule meetings.

There was no parliamentary procedure report.

Old Business: 

Enrollment – Monday, March 15 is the deadline for enrollment. You must contact Cindy to add or drop projects once your enrollment has been submitted on 4HOnline.

Carnival Tickets – Our club sold the most tickets. Lexi Grundy sold over 1,000 tickets and Liam Babcock sold over 550 tickets.

Shooting Sports Orientations – New member orientation was on Saturday, March 6. Those new members can begin practicing. There is one more opportunity for orientation on April 1 on Zoom and April 3 in person.

Shooting Sports Award Pins – We’ll continue to have pins for county shoots and state teams instead of medals.

New Business:

T-Shirt Designs – If your design includes the 4-H clover, it must be original colors and shape. There are 5 federally-protected logos: Presidential Seal, Red Cross, Smokey the Bear, Olympic rings, and 4-H clover. Send ideas for club t-shirt designs to Cindy.

Demonstrations – Go to the Signups page on the hch4h.org website to sign up and present demonstrations.

Ethan Osusky moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded and APPROVED. Adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
