During a normal 4-H year, without COVID-19 concerns, Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) is a week-long 4-H citizenship program for youth ages 14–19 that typically takes place at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Washington, D.C. Through the support of Colorado 4-H, more than 3,800 4-H members have participated in the National 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus program in Washington, D.C. over the past 45 years. CWF provides opportunities for members to develop their leadership skills, learn about civic engagement, get a behind-the-scenes look at our nation’s capital, hear from engaging speakers, and complete hands-on work like drafting a legislative bill.
This year the conference will be a virtual, once-a-week program that will begin on June 20. These workshops will run every Monday for five weeks (June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12, and July 19). Each session will last 2–2.5 hours, starting at 4:30 p.m.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Delegates must be at least 15-years-old by January 1 of the current year and currently involved in an Extension-sponsored 4-H youth program.
