The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m. on May 10, 2021 by President Josh Ryan at the First National Bank of Omaha Building at The Ranch.
The pledges were lead by Morgan Copeland and Soren Donnelly.
Roll call was taken by Cindy Buckardt with the question “What are you doing this summer?”
The secretary’s report was posted on the club website. Walker Cameron moved to approve the minutes for April. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.
The treasurer, Clara Coats, was not present. Cindy gave the treasurer report: checking = $3,549.33, savings account = $6,331.93, CD = $2,061.59.
CharLee Davis was absent and we didn’t have a reporter’s report.
Morgan Copeland volunteered to lead the sunshine report. We had four 10-year-old birthdays and we sang “Happy Birthday” to them.
There was no Cloverbuds report.
Leader’s Report:
McKee Building Status – Opened up but there are restrictions because of our club’s size.
Project Manuals – Manuals were available at tonight’s meeting, or members can get them from Cindy.
Animal IDs – IDs were due on May 1 on 4HOnline. If you have questions, see Cindy right away.
Meat Quality Assurance (MQA) – Will be on Friday, May 14 from 2:00–7:00 p.m.
Club Emails – Watch for club emails with news and events to come from info@hch4h.org.
For the parliamentary procedure report we talked about the importance of Parliamentary Procedure and that members have the power at meetings.
Old Business:
4-H Carnival – The Foundation is discussing at the May meeting about holding it on October 9, 2021. Our club sold tickets worth $3,000. The first-place seller was Lexi Grundy with $1,231, second place was Liam Babcock with $600, fourth place was Dawson Leypolt with $250, and Walker and Willow Cameron were in fifth place with $200 each.
Club T-Shirts – An online order form for t-shirts will be posted and orders are due in two weeks. The club pays $13 for a free t-shirt or a discounted hoodie for members, Cloverbuds, and leaders.
New Business:
Fair Parade – The theme is “Better Together.” The parade is July 31st at 9:30 a.m. Wesley Anzaldua moved to participate in the parade. Seconded and APPROVED. We’re going to decorate our club float the n8ght before, July 30th.
Demonstrations:
- Walker Cameron – Archery stabilizers,
- Eden Copeland – Main tools used for leathercraft,
- Morgan Copeland – Goat breeds,
- Kinzie Copeland – Cleaning food.
