July 2021 Meeting Minutes

The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. on July 12, 2021 by President Josh Ryan at the McKee Building at The Ranch.

The pledges were lead by Victoria Freeland, Troy Davis, CharLee Davis, Quinn Norris, Jacee Bielenberg, and Emma Lynch.

Roll call was taken by Cindy Buckardt.

Walker Cameron moved to approve the secretary’s report from June as posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.

Clara Coats, the treasurer, was not present. Cindy gave the treasurer report. In the checking account we have $2,723.77, in the savings account we have $6,304.30. The CD has $2,062.35.

CharLee Davis gave a reporter’s report. She sent the meeting report for June to the Reporter-Herald, Greeley Tribune, and Coloradoan.

Wyatt Grundy led the sunshine report, we had three birthdays and we sang “Happy Birthday.” The Thompson Valley High School girls who were injured in a car accident in the Spring sent the club a thank you card.

The Cloverbuds played Fourth of July BINGO and made snow globes with water bottles.

Leader’s Report: 

Club T-shirts – The second order of t-shirts and hoodies will be delivered on July 13, 2021.

Fashion Revue – The fashion revue will be held on July 28, 2021.

Livestock Penny War – Junior members are having a penny war. Support them during the fair.

There was no parliamentary procedure report.

Old Business:

Fair Parade – Decorate the float at Cindy’s shop in Berthoud on July 30 at 6:00 p.m. The theme is “Better Together.” Stephanie Lynch reported about plans for two floats: one for the members and one for the Cloverbuds. Josh Ryan is supplying straw bales.

Discounted Rodeo Tickets and Carnival Wristbands – The order form is on the website under Signups. The deadline for orders is Tuesday, July 27. They will be available from Cindy on August 3.

New Business:

Fair Entry Feedback – Cindy is interested in gathering feedback about the process used for fair entry this year. There will be a survey on the website.

Community Service Projects –
Dairy Bar: The Junior Leader Club is asking for clubs to volunteer to work in the dairy bar in the McKee Building during the fair. There is no truck raffle for our club to sell tickets this year. Brooke Carlson moved to work at the dairy bar as a club on Saturday, August 7. Seconded and APPROVED. A SignUpGenius will be posted for those who want to help at the dairy bar. Requirement: Members must be at least 10 years old. Each time slot allows for 6 members (ages 10+) and 2 parents.
Lon Hagler Painting: Planning to paint picnic benches in September. Nate Rogers will look to see what supplies are needed to fix the benches.
FAFLC Fireworks Stand: Thank you to members who volunteered to help.

NRA Foundation Banquet: Tait Simpson moved to increase our budget by $100 to fund the remainder of the Shooting Sports leaders to attend. Seconded and APPROVED.

  • Wyatt Grundy: Torch finishing in woodworking,

  • Martha Simpson: The clothing worn in 3P Rifle,
  • Jacob Simpson: Muzzleloading and the tools it needs.

Wyatt Grundy moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded and APPROVED. Adjourned at 8:19 p.m.
