The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m. on October 11, 2021 by President Josh Ryan at the McKee Building at The Ranch.
The pledges were lead by Victoria Freeland and Jaden Bielenberg.
For roll call members introduced themselves and how many years they have been in 4-H. The leaders also introduced themselves.
Trinity Dunham moved to approve the secretary’s report from July as posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.
Clara Coats, the treasurer, was not present. The treasurer report was In the checking account we have $595.67, in the savings account we have $5,586.60 and the CD has $2,063.11. The club budget was presented and approved.
We did not have a reporter’s report.
Kathryn Cox led the sunshine report. We had several birthdays during August, September. and October. We sang “Happy Birthday.” We made a we’re-sad-you’re-leaving card for the Grundys.
The next Cloverbuds meeting will be November 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Leader’s Report:
Exchange Club – This is a two-year program for 4-H members ages 13 and older. Members host one year, and then travel to stay with the family in another state the next year. (Members must be age 14 by June 1 of the year of travel.)
Junior Leader Club – Members who are 13-years and older are invited to join the junior leader club. Members help the community and learn about leadership.
For the parliamentary procedure report, we talked about why we vote and what to think about when electing officers.
Old Business:
Fair Recap – Remember to send thank you notes if you received a special award. We had an amazing number of members who placed in the top ten at the state fair. We have three members who are national qualifiers for the national shooting sports competition.
Club Completion – 80% of our club members completed their projects. For the upcoming year, let’s do better.
New Business:
New Projects – This year the county is adding two new projects: beekeeping and metalworking (welding).
Lon Hagler Painting Community Service – Jaden Bielenberg moved to paint the benches at the Lon Hagler Archery Range on Saturday, October 23 at 9:00 a.m. Seconded and APPROVED.
There were no demonstrations.
