November 2021 Meeting Minutes

The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:06 p.m. on November 8, 2021 by President Josh Ryan at the McKee Building at The Ranch.

The pledges were lead by Morgan Copeland, Kinzie Copeland, and Nikolas Snyder.

Roll call was taken by Eden Copeland.

Tait Simpson moved to approve the secretary’s report from October as posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.

Clara Coats presented the treasurer report. In the checking account we have $350.51, in the savings account we have $5,586.60 and the CD has $2,063.11.

CharLee Davis was absent and therefore we did not have a reporter’s report.

Kathryn Cox led the sunshine report. We had nine birthdays. We sent a card to the family of Carl Maxey, who recently passed away; and a Veteran’s Day card to two Cloverbuds whose mom is in Iraq serving right now. Happy birthday, Cindy!

Cloverbud meetings will be held on the third Monday each month. The next meeting is on November 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Construction Supply House.

Leader’s Report: 

Exchange Club and Junior Leader Club – Both clubs are welcoming members who are 13 years and older.

Hunter Education – Now is a good time for Shooting Sports members to complete the online portion, and be prepared for the in-person completion class on March 26–27 at the McKee Building and Front Range Gun Club.

Sportfishing – We’re planning an ice fishing trip for February at Dowdy Lake in Red Feather.

For the parliamentary procedure report, Josh Ryan asked each officer to explain their position and members received a handout with officer descriptions. Think about the offices and we’ll hold elections at the December meeting.

Old Business:

4-H Open House – Marley Gebhardt talked about the open house. Jenelle Kemper asked to have a club sign or banner and tablecloths for next year.

Turning Pens for the Troops – Carter Lambert talked about making pens for the troops as a community service.

Lon Hagler Painting Community Service – Jaden Bielenberg reported on the club’s community service painting benches at the Lon Hagler archery range.

New Business:

Club Officer Elections – Elections will be held at the December club meeting.

Wrapping Presents Community Service – We’ll wrap Christmas presents for Foster and Adoptive Families of Larimer County at our December meeting.

SCHEELS Giving – Beginning on November 15, SCHEELS takes nominations for non-profits to receive funds. We need everyone to vote and help us try to receive a grant.

4-H Carnival – We voted on themes for our club baskets: Hunting/Outdoor Skills, Colorado/Sports, and Sweets.

Demonstrations:

  • Eden Copeland: drawing project,
  • Morgan Copeland: fitting goats for fair,
  • Kinzie Copeland: proper handwashing,
  • Josh Ryan: giving vaccinations to goats.

Trinity Dunham moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded and APPROVED. Meeting ended at 8:21 p.m.
