Float Building and Parade Day Information

From Cindy

Families, please find our float and be on it by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30. The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The parade lineup will be on South Railroad Avenue at Fairgrounds Park. We are #27 and #28 in the lineup. The best place to park is at Barnes Park. You can then walk to Fairgrounds Park on the bike/walking trail to board the float. (Keep in mind that West First Street is closed.)

There will be a cooler of bottled water on the floats for the kids.

Thank you to the Cumpsten Family and Ryan Family for getting the trailers and pulling the floats.

Parents are welcome to ride on the float. Or if you plan to watch, we own a property at 246 South Cleveland, directly across the street from the former school district warehouse. Many of us sit here since it is near the end of the parade route. Feel free join us…bring your chairs and a plastic bag to gather candy. (The location is noted as HCH with the 4-H Clover on the map.)

Decorating the Float:

We are decorating the float on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Construction Supply House, 806 North 2nd Street in Berthoud. Pizza and water will be provided, or you can bring your own drink. Please RSVP if you will attend so that we can order enough pizza for everyone. Also bring completed record books you would like to have signed.

From the Parade Float Committee

Hi, parents!

We are excited to see you tomorrow night for our club’s parade float build!

This year’s theme is:

Cowboy Boots and Country Roots

Our float design will have 3 trees (roots) in the center, surrounded by hay bales for the kids to sit on.

Each 4-H member will design (color) one cowboy boot, or more if they want. The boots will decorate the edge of the float.

Kids and parents are also encouraged to complete a 4-H Generation sign to carry and wave in the parade. (How many generations has your family participated in 4-H? We love having the 4-H legacy live on, and start anew!)

If you have cowboy boots and a club t-shirt, please wear them to the parade!
(No worries if your kids have outgrown boots or t-shirts—they grow so fast! 🤯😂)

Can’t wait to see you!

From,

The HCH Parade Float Committee
