Leader’s Report:

Paid Parking at The Ranch – Sharel Cameron talked about the new paid parking at the Ranch for ticketed events at Blue Arena (Budweiser Event Center). It will use scanners to gather license plate information, similar to driving on E-470 or other toll roads. When a 4-H event takes place at the same time as a ticketed event, we will gather the Name, State of License Plate, and License Plate Number for all 4-H families in attendance. Otherwise, families will receive a bill. We will have a form to handwrite your information, or an online form to fill out while at the event.

Rob Ryan explained the importance of the Clover Connection, calendar, club website, and club emails. These resources allow the members and their families to be informed about workshops, competitions, registration, projects, and other 4-H-related information.

Visual Arts – If you are interested in the Visual Arts, please contact leader Karley Fitgerald-Rivera. She will continue to host workshops if members find them beneficial. If not, workshops may not happen, but she is still available to answer questions.

Foods – The next meeting will be on February 5 at 6:00 p.m. Leader Amy Gebhardt will bring supplies to make spring rolls. There will be a field trip to MouCo Cheese Company in Fort Collins on March 19 at 10:00 a.m. All members are invited, but attendance is limited, so reserve a spot when the SignupGenius is available. Amy Gebhardt will be stepping down as the food project leader next year. We encourage any parents who are interested in being the leader for Foods to attend meetings and learn more about volunteering.

Scrapbooking – No report.

Clothing – Hanna Copeland spoke about plans for upcoming workshops. The next workshop will be on January 27 from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. This will be an introductory workshop. There is also a workshop on February 10 from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. If you are interested in the clothing project, Hanna is happy to answer questions. If you are enrolled in Clothing, watch for an email with more information.

Junior Leadership Club – Karley Fitzgerald-Rivera talked about the Junior Leadership Club. It is for members ages 13 years and older. This club runs the Dairy Bar, Achievement Night, Junior Jam. The next meeting will be January 22. It is a great leadership opportunity.

Murdoch’s Gift Wrapping – Nikki McNear recapped how the gift wrapping went at Murdoch’s. The club worked three shifts and received $529 in donations. It was pointed out that we had a majority of members vote to do this project, so there should have been more than three families participating. If you vote yes, you need to be able to volunteer.

New Business:

Club PayPal and Venmo – Our club has a PayPal and Venmo account to use for fundraising opportunities such as the Murdoch’s gift wrapping.

4-H Carnival Tickets – 4-H Carnival Tickets are available for returning members and new members who are enrolled. As a club, we will be selling tickets at King Soopers on February 10 and 11 from 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. If you still need to pick up tickets or need additional tickets, please see Hanna Copeland at the beginning or end of this meeting or the February meeting.

4-H Carnival Baskets – We are doing three baskets for the live auction at the carnival. We voted last month on the basket themes, and our baskets will be Outdoors, Cooking, and LEGO. Please bring donation items to fill these baskets.

4-H Carnival Game Booths – Every year our club provides games, booths, and volunteers for the carnival. We usually do 4 booths and we discussed how many booths to do this year. Hailey McNear moved to increase the number of booths. This was seconded and then the motion was revised by Hailey to increase the number of booths to 6 booths. The motion was seconded. After discussion, Ethan Osusky moved to add 3 more booths totaling 7 booths. This was seconded and the motion was APPROVED. Then we voted on how many tickets each booth should charge. For Plinko, Smack the Quack, and Duck Pull, there was a discussion about whether these booths should be 2 or 3 tickets. Members voted for Smack the Quack to be 3 tickets, and Duck Pull and Plinko to be 2 tickets. There was a discussion on whether to increase the Toilet Paper Toss from 3 to 4 tickets. Walker Cameron moved to make the game 4 tickets. It was seconded, but by vote, it was denied. We will be keeping the Toilet Paper Toss at 3 tickets. The Iron Man will stay at 4 tickets.
