Calling all High Country Handiworkers club members! We want your gently used or new shoes for donation!
Our club is volunteering to help gather shoes for the Foster and Adoptive Families of Larimer County (FAFLC). Shoes can be athletic shoes, sneakers, hiking shoes, cowboy boots, snow boots, (no ice skates).
FAFLC pairs the shoes and they are picked up by Funds2Orgs, an organization based in Florida. The collected shoes become an economic lifeline for individuals and families living in developing nations. Funds2Orgs works with individuals who create microbusinesses. A micro-enterprise is generally owned and operated by families of 1–2 people. They sell the shoes to promote commerce opportunities and leads to economic sustainability.
The funds that FAFLC raises are spent purchasing gift cards for the FAFLC children to purchase new shoes to start the school year. FAFLC purchases a $35 gift card for the kids going into Kindergarten through 5th grade, and a $50 gift card for kids in 6th grade through Senior year.
Bring your donation shoes to a HCH club meeting, the FAFLC location (246 South Cleveland in Loveland), or Construction Supply House (806A N 2nd Street in Berthoud).
