Parade Time: Decorate the Float and Participate in the Parade

Meet to Decorate the Parade Float

Meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26 at Construction Supply House in Berthoud (806 North 2nd Street, Berthoud Colorado) to decorate the parade float. Bring a t-shirt to decorate as a farm animal if you wish. We’ll have markers available.

Our club will supply pizza. Bring your water bottle or something to drink, and also bring chairs!

The organizational leaders are ready to sign your record books! Bring them on Friday to have them reviewed and signed so you’re all ready for Interview Judging on Tuesday.

Parade Day!

The parade is on Saturday, July 27 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Our float will be near the beginning of the parade: #8 for the club and #9 for the Cloverbuds. We will need to be all ready to roll at 9:30 a.m.!

Wear the t-shirt you decorate or your 4-H club shirt. It will probably be hot, so bring your water bottle, and remember your sunscreen and a hat.

Plan to park at Barnes Softball Park and walk the trail to Fairgrounds Park to find our floats, probably parked along the side of Railroad Avenue/Roosevelt Avenue. Meet at the floats at 8:45 a.m. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter and drop off members or supplies in the staging area to keep things less congested and safer for those prepping parade floats. (See the map below for the parking lot location and general location of the parade float.)

We’ll have candy to pass out. We can’t throw it from the float, but we can walk the route and hand out candy.

We would love to have more parents help on the float and walking in the parade. Our parade committee is outnumbered by 4-H members and it’s a large “herd” to wrangle without help!

Family members are welcome to sit and watch the parade as a group. Members can watch the remainder of the parade after the float finishes the route. We will be sitting at the house at 246 South Cleveland. Bring your chairs and look for the HCH group.
