The meeting of the High Country Handiworkers was called to order at 7:02 p.m. on February 8, 2021 by President Josh Ryan. The meeting was held on Zoom.
The pledges were led by Ethan and Nolan Osusky.
Roll call was taken by typing member names in the chat. The question asked was “What projects are you enrolled in?”
Josh opened the floor for nominations for the office of secretary. Eden Copeland had submitted an application for the office. Seeing no other nominations, nominations were closed. Josh cast the ballot for Eden Copeland to take the office of secretary.
There were no minutes for the January meeting.
The treasurer’s report was given by Clara Coats: CD = $2,060.82, Checking = $4,032.32, and Savings = $3,964.34.
Victoria Freeland moved to make Sharel Cameron the second signer on all club accounts. Motion seconded and APPROVED.
No reporter’s report was given.
The sunshine report was led by Kathryn Cox and Wyatt Grundy. We had two February birthdays.
There was no Cloverbud report.
Leaders Report:
Extension Agent – Our new extension agent, Katie Daywalker, was present. She introduced herself and told the club a little about herself.
McKee Building Status – The McKee Building may be open to us in April, but we won’t know until the end of February.
Shooting Sports Leader Training – Training will be hosted by Larimer County and hosted in Weld County on March 13–14. The Shooting Sports certification renewal training will be virtual.
Scholarships – The Larimer County 4-H Foundation scholarships applications are available. The deadline for submission is March 20.
Sewing Project – Avery Kemper told us about the sewing workshop she attended. At the workshop they talked about the requirements for the project.
Parliamentary procedure – Rob Ryan told us about how to make a motion and why we are supposed to read the minutes.
Old Business:
Enrollment – The deadline is March 15 for new and returning members to participate in the Larimer County Fair. We have 54 members enrolled from our club now.
New Business:
Carnival – Everyone in the club is requested to sell 25 tickets before March 6. The carnival and auction have been postponed until fall, tentatively October.
Shooting Sports Orientations – Sharel Cameron reported that orientations are on February 11 and 18 via Zoom. You have to register online.
Shooting Sports Practices – .22 Rifle and .22 Pistol start February 14 at Front Range Gun Club. We are waiting for permission for the other practices.
Club T-Shirts – Send in your t-shirt designs before the March meeting so the club can vote. The designs will be posted online.
The next meeting will be March 8 at 7:00 p.m.
