The meeting of the High Country Handiworkers was called to order at 7:03 p.m. on January 11, 2021 by President Josh Ryan. The meeting was held on Zoom.
The pledges were led by Marley Gebhardt and Andrea Newby.
We did not take roll call.
There were no minutes from the previous meeting.
The treasurer’s report was given by Clara Coats: CD = $2,060.82, Checking = $4,032.32, and Savings = $3,964.34.
No reporter’s report was given.
The sunshine report was led by Wyatt Grundy.
Cloverbud report: Cloverbuds did turkey activities. Emmalin presented a demonstration.
Leaders Report:
McKee Building Status – The McKee Building is still occupied for COVID lease.
Shooting Sports Leader Training – Training will be hosted by Larimer County on March 12–14. Registration opens on January 15. You need to renew if it has been 7 years.
Exchange Club – Under new leadership and accepting new members. Must be a senior member to travel, but if they aren’t traveling the first year, members can join at 13.
Project Leader Reports – Photography has new, revised manuals. Jenelle Kemper will be having photography club. Any member is welcome, even if they aren’t enrolled in the project.
National Western Stock Show Catch-A-Calf – Delaney Newby showed her calf. Applications are open for next year now. Kids who complete the project qualify for scholarships from NWSS. Must be 12–18 as of the end of December.
Old Business:
Enrollment – The deadline for returning members to enroll is February 1. We only have 16 members enrolled now.
New Business:
Election of Officers – Avery Kemper made a motion to keep our current officers from 2020. Andrea Newby, secretary, wants to step down. Secretary will be elected. Motion seconded and APPROVED.
4-H Truck Raffle – Pam received funds from last year’s ticket sales. We raised $4,730.
Carnival – We are still doing ticket sales. It’s the 62nd year for the carnival. We will discuss booth ideas at the next meeting.
Carnival Auction Baskets – We’ll post a form with ideas to vote on.
Shooting Sports Orientations – Returning members can register for orientation now.
Shooting Sports National Participants – Our club has three members who qualified for Nationals: Walker Cameron, Nate Rogers, Nick Freeland. Haley McNear moved for the club to fund $100 for each. There was discussion about increasing the amount. Haley amended her motion to $200. Seconded and APPROVED.
Club T-Shirts – Work on designs. We will order in March.
Junior Leader Food Drive – The Junior Leader Club is doing a canned food drive. Donations can be dropped off at Cindy’s shop in Berthoud.
Andrea Newby moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded and APPROVED.
