The High Country Handiworkers meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m. on May 9, 2022 by President Josh Ryan at the McKee Building at The Ranch.
The pledges were led by Abigail, Chloe, Grace, Hannah, and Jethro Jones, as well as Terrin Cook, and Emmitt Closz.
Roll call was taken by club leader Cindy Buckardt and secretary Eden Copeland. This month’s question was “What is your favorite animal?”
Gideon Rivera moved to approve the secretary’s report from April as posted on the club website. The motion was seconded and APPROVED.
Treasurer Trinity Dunham presented the treasurer report. In the checking account, we have $2,557.93, in the savings account we have $5,588.93, and the CD has $2,064.13.
The club meeting report was submitted to the local papers by the club reporter, Morgan Copeland.
Avery Kemper and Kinzie Copeland led the sunshine report for the May birthdays. We also signed a card for a club member who is sick.
Lacey Adams, the Cloverbud leader, presented the Cloverbud report. In April, the Cloverbuds visited SCHEELS and had a scavenger hunt.
Leader’s Report:
Shooting Sports – Larimer County is not providing manuals. There is a dress code for 4-H and you will be sent home if you do not abide by it. Shorts must be at least mid-thigh. Shoes must be closed-toed and no tank tops. Practices have started. Make sure you are eligible and check the calendar for upcoming practices. Another hunter education will be held on June 25 and June 26. Start the online classes and watch for email to register.
Club Archery Practices – Archery Practice at the Lon Hagler range start on May 17, 2022.
Beekeeping – The next meeting will be on May 15th at 3:30 p.m. at Jenelle Kemper’s house.
Foods – The last meeting will be on the first Monday of June at 6:00 p.m. and will cover record books.
Photography – The next meeting is on Wednesday, May 18th at 6:00 p.m.
For the parliamentary procedure report, we talked about how to make a motion, what goes on after a motion, and the types of votes.
Old Business:
4-H Carnival – As a club we sold 4,981 tickets.
Club Shirts – There is an order form on the club website and the deadline to order is Friday, May 13. The club will cover the cost of shirts for new members, new Cloverbuds, and new leaders, or the cost of a shirt towards a hoodie.
New Business:
Fair Parade – The parade is on July 30th and the theme is “Country Roots and Cowboy Boots.” The float design committee is Erin Jones, Felicia Snyder, Hanna Copeland, Karley Rivera, and Lorinda DeLeau. We will create the floats on July 29th.
