Photography workshops are coming up on February 21 and April 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the McKee Building at The Ranch. Be sure to mark your calendar and get started on this project soon…it’s a big one! Thanks to our volunteer leader, Jenelle Kemper of JKemper Photography LLC, for guiding our members through it.
Remember that Monday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. is our monthly club meeting. I hope you all can attend.
Please remember to:
We will distribute 4-H Carnival Tickets at the club meeting if you have not already received them. If you have not picked up tickets and won’t be at the meeting on Monday, please let me know so we can make arrangements for you to receive them. Every club member is strongly encouraged to sell 25 tickets each.
If you are going to be in attendance, this is your last chance to pick up fair projects at the club meeting. YOU MUST let me know by 12:00 noon on Monday, February 13 if you want projects brought to the meeting.
What is not picked up at the club meeting or from my office in Berthoud by Monday, February 20 will no longer be available. I can’t hold on to fair projects 6 months after fair—I don’t have the space.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has invited us to participate in another ice fishing adventure on February 25 at Lake Dowdy in Red Feather from 9:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. All the participants need is warm clothes and snacks/lunch. The fishing equipment will be provided. This is open to any 4-H member, family members, and leaders, but we are limited to a total of 30 participants.
If you attended the event in January and enjoyed it, you can certainly attend again. However, we will give those who did not attend the first opportunity.
If you are interested, please RSVP to Cindy Buckardt by February 13, and she will provide a link to sign up.
Please keep in mind that Livestock Field Day is also occurring on that day.
All participants who are enrolled in a livestock project and are housing an animal at a location other than the primary address listed in v2.4HOnline.com will need to fill out an Animal Care and Housing Document. Email or mail the hard copy of the form to the extension office, and upload it to 4HOnline under County Required Forms. You will also upload this form onto 4-Honline under County Required Forms. If you are already submitted your enrollment, email it to Pam Heeney and she can will upload the document for you. Click here for the form.
This document does not take place of Premise IDs. Premise IDs are still required to be turned in to the office. Members can always check with the extension office to see if they have a number. Remember even if a member has received a premise ID it’s easy and free to obtain a Premises ID. You can register by calling 303-869-9130 or https://ag.colorado.gov/animals/colorado-location-identification-lid-registration-premises.
Plan to attend the 4-H Horse Project Orientation on Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Berthoud/Loveland/Fort Collins rooms at the McKee Building at The Ranch.
This meeting is open to all members, new and old, enrolled in the Horse Project, as well as parents and leaders. We will cover mounted and unmounted opportunities, Animal ID requirements, record books, the Horse Advancement Levels program, contests, and deadlines.
What’s better than BUTTER? Last week at the Foods project meeting, members made butter and then got to sample the creation.
Want to learn to scrapbook or to make cards and tags? Come to this scrapbooking workshop and learn how to get started. You will use scrapbooking tools to create a fun tag to take home. We will discuss the scrapbooking project and where to begin.
Everything you need will be supplied for the meeting. Just bring your creativity!
The meeting will be hosted by High Country Handiworkers project leader Barb Hummel at her home, 3339 West County Road 4, Berthoud, CO 80513. If you have any questions, you can email Barb at hummeb@hotmail.com.
