The Larimer County 4-H Exchange Program allows youth to participate in a series of learning experiences in which individuals visit the homes of 4-H members in other geographical areas and are visited by them in return. Counties usually host a delegation one year, and return to visit the homes of their guests the following year.
The Larimer County 4-H Exchange Program is an opportunity for youth to:
- Gain deeper insight into one’s own values;
- Increase understanding and appreciation of others’ heritage, customs, and cultural factors;
- Foster the development of initiative, independence, and leadership skills;
- Create new and perhaps lasting friendships;
- Expand 4-H understanding beyond local community or county and share information learned to strengthen local 4-H clubs and activities;
- Become involved in another community.
Like almost everything else in our lives the 2021 Larimer County 4H Exchange Program will look a little different yet still exciting and fun.
This year our goal is to hold a virtual exchange with a county in Minnesota. We are currently working on the details of what a Virtual Exchange will look like, but the exciting part is you get to be part of this new and different exchange program for this year if you choose to join.
We are hoping to have more information and a better detailed plan at our Zoom meeting on Thursday, January 21. If you are interested in attending our meeting, please contact Caree or Jenny so we can send you the Zoom meeting link.
