Livestock Record Books Due Wednesday, September 15

Livestock record books are due on Wednesday, September 15. This includes Dog and Cat. For those in livestock that did not show at fair such as Rabbit, the record books still need to be submitted to complete the project.

Bring your books to our HCH club picnic on Monday, September 13 to get them signed by Cindy.

Livestock Record Book Judging Opportunity

On behalf of the Larimer County 4-H Foundation, we are offering an opportunity to have Livestock Record Books evaluated by a group of livestock leaders. As in the past, the books will be scored and awards will be given. In this unique time, the Foundation felt it was important to continue with the submission of Livestock Record Books. This is an opportunity for all livestock species (Cat, Dog, Alpaca/Llama, Rabbit, Horse, Sheep, Goat, Poultry, Swine, and Beef). THIS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT. If record books are submitted the Foundation will contact your club leaders to let them know that a book has been submitted.

Due to concerns of COVID, the books should be dropped off at one of four business locations around the county. The drop-off bins are in place now and record books can be dropped off anytime between now and September 23. The bins are clearly marked “Livestock Record Books.”

No Livestock Record Book Judging for 2020

Livestock and animal record books will NOT be collected this year. This decision was made due to the limits on face-to-face contact and our extension office not being staffed in-person.

Congrats to all who completed their record books and worked so hard! We’re sorry we are not able to judge them this year.

Shooting Sports Project and e-Records Workshop

Sam Webb is hosting a second Shooting Sports Project and e-Record Workshop this Wednesday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. (If you missed the first workshop in April, it walks through the e-Record book in detail. Go to the Projects page on the Shooting Sports website to view the video replay.

Shooting Sports Record Book & Project Workshop on Zoom

Check your email for information about this year’s Record Book and Project Workshops. A Zoom will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. to walk you through the e-Record book and begin your project for the County Fair.

Before the meeting be sure to download your e-Record book. It’s available from the county shooting sports site lc4hss.org under Resources in the footer or by clicking here.

It will be helpful to have an adult to help our younger or new members as we walk through the book.
