Hunter Education Course / April 20–21, 2024

Our club has organized an Internet Conclusion Course for Hunter Education on April 20–21, 2024.

This course is for 4-H members. However, parents and siblings are welcome to attend and earn their hunter education cards as well.

All participants must complete the online course BEFORE attending the in-person course. We recommend starting soon—the online course takes significant time to finish. Click here for the online course. The cost is $29.50.

Hunter Education Course / March 25–26, 2023

Update as of March 13, 2023: We currently have 6 slots open for our Hunter Education class on March 25–26. This is an Internet Completion Course, so it requires that the online portion to completed prior to attending.

Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports is hosting a conclusion course for Hunter Education on March 25–26, 2023. This conclusion course requires all participants to have completed the online course PRIOR to attending the in-person course.

Hunter Education Course / March 26–27, 2022

Registration for our Hunter Education class on March 26–27, 2022 is now OPEN. The registration link will close at 5:00 p.m. on March 23. Students will NOT be able to register or cancel after that date/time.

Participants and parents need to read the class information and follow the instructions. This document includes information about where to go, what to bring, class times, etc.

Participants MUST register and complete the online class before March 26. Find information about the online course by clicking here. Upon successfully completing the online class, participants will be prompted to print out their certificate of completion. Participants MUST bring their certificate of completion on March 26 along with the attached consent form to be admitted into the class. We will NOT allow students into the class on March 26 without their online certificate of completion and a signed student consent form.

Hunter Safety Class on April 17–18

Hunter education is not required to compete at the county shoots. However, to be eligible to compete at the state competition, participants must submit their hunter education card before the July 1 deadline.

11 Years and Older

Members who are 11-years-old or older have the opportunity to receive their hunter education card by completing ONLY the online course before May 15, 2021. This is a temporary allowance due to health restrictions, so we recommend getting started now. The cost is $24.50.

Under 11 Years

For members who are under 11-years-old, the online course at Hunter-Ed.com is required prior to attending the in-person internet completion course.

Register for the in-person class here and then click the button above to register and begin the online course.

The in-person completion course will be held on April 17–18, 2021 at the First National Bank Building at The Ranch and Front Range Gun Club in Loveland. The class fee is $10.

The major portion of this course uses the Internet to complete the mandatory homework. The online portion of this course is $24.50 and is available. Students must show the certificate of completion for the online course to attend the classroom session.

On Saturday, we will meet at the First National Bank building at The Ranch in Loveland from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. On Sunday, we will meet at the Front Range Gun Club at 697 Denver Avenue in Loveland from 8:00–10:00 a.m.

If you are enrolled in Shooting Sports and haven’t done orientation, you can complete the Safety orientation online now.

If you ordered club t-shirts or hoodies, they are in and will be distributed when we see each other again.

If you are 11-years-old or older, you can complete the entire course online to get a Hunter Education card right now! No in-person class is required. Even if you’re not enrolled in the Shooting Sports project, this is a great opportunity to get your Hunter Education card! Parents should consider doing it as well.

The Junior Leadership Club is offering scholarships to help with project expenses. Find information on the Junior Leadership Club’s website and grab an application for a project scholarship here.

Hunter Education In-Person Class Temporarily Waived for Ages 11+

Colorado Parks & Wildlife has temporarily waived the in-person class requirement for 120 days for anyone 11-years-old and older. This ends on July 31, 2020.

  • If you completed the online hunter-ed.com course after January 1 but before April 8, 2020, you can visit hunter-ed.com and re-print your certificate which will now include your official hunter ed number. Then reach out to Colorado Parks & Wildlife and they will mail your permanent hunter education card directly to you.
  • If you complete the hunter-ed.com online course after April 8, 2020, you will automatically receive your permanent hunter education card in the mail.

Take note, this only applies to those 11-years-old and older. Any kids 10-years-old and younger must still complete the in-person portion of the course.

This is a great time to get your Hunter Education done!

We will still be offering the hunter education completion course on June 20–21 for the 4-H members 8–10 years old.

On June 20, the class will be at the McKee Building from 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. On June 21, the live shooting portion will be at Front Range Gun Club beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Registration is now available online at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website for the class on June 20–21. Click here to register. The cost for this four-hour class and the live shooting is $10.

Begin the online portion by going to hunter-ed.com and completing the online course. Be sure to print the certificate of completion and other required forms when you are finished.

Our hunter education completion course has been rescheduled for June 20–21. On June 20, the class will be at the McKee Building from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. On June 21, the live shooting portion will be at Front Range Gun Club beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Registration will be available online at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website for the class on June 20–21 soon. We’ll post the link as soon as it’s up. The cost for this four-hour class and the live shooting is $10.
