Sewing Orientation / March 30, 2024

On Saturday, March 30 at 9:00 a.m. at the McKee 4-H Building in the Fort Collins/Loveland room, we are holding an orientation for unit 1, first-time members. We will be going over helpful items for the project and items that might be handy to have in your sewing kits. Please bring your sewing machine. You can bring thread for your machine and a bobbin if you would like. You will not need fabric for this orientation. 

If you are not a first-time member, you are welcome to bring a project to work on. Cari and Hanna will be available for questions.

Orientation for Family and Consumer Science Projects and General Projects

Join us this Monday, March 18 or Thursday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Loveland Room at the McKee 4-H Building at The Ranch. If you are new to 4-H or new to either Family and Consumer Science Projects or General Projects, this workshop is designed to help you get started!

We’ll be covering:

  • Upcoming project workshops
  • Exhibit requirements 
  • Project completion
  • Upcoming contests
  • Entering in the county fair
  • And more!

HCH Scrapbooking Project Meetings / March and April 2024

Barb Hummel will be hosting our Scrapbooking project members at her home for project meetings on March 16, 2024 and April 13, 2024 from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

For the March meeting, bring a picture of your Mom, and ideas for your fair project.

For the April meeting, we’ll work on projects and talk about the record book.

4-H Dog Expo / April 7, 2024

Plan to attend the Statewide 4-H Dog Expo on Sunday, April 7 at The Ranch in Loveland. This event is open to all 4-H Dog Project members regardless of age or level. Hands-on workshops will cover Obedience, Rally, and Showmanship. Classes will be offered on Dog Behavior, Careers with Dogs, Veterinary Care, Dog Show Class Progression, and more! There will also be classes for parents/guardians. Members can attend with or without a dog. 

  • When: Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Where: Larimer County Fairgrounds, The Ranch, 5280 Arena Circle, Loveland, Colorado
  • Cost: $10 per member

Registration through v2.4HOnline.com is required and space is limited. The deadline to register is March 29.

Junior Leadership Club Project and Event Scholarship Application for 2024

The Junior Leadership Club is accepting applications for project scholarships for this year. If you need financial support to complete any of your projects, please consider applying. Applications are reviewed by a committee of JLC members and the applications are judged on the following criteria:

  • 4-H leadership experience,
  • Written responses to questions,
  • Enthusiasm and passion about the event or project,
  • Deadline timeliness,
  • Grammar and spelling.

Dog Project Training Workshops

The county 4-H Dog Training Workshops are free and open to all 4-H Dog Members. Obedience, Showmanship, and Rally workshops will be held on Monday evenings in the McKee 4-H Building Exhibit Hall at The Ranch,from 6:00–8:00 p.m.

First-year members: 6:00 p.m.

Second-year and above: 7:00 p.m.
