Cloverbud Workshop / Food & Nutrition

These HCH Cloverbuds took part in the Cloverbud Workshop about Food and Nutrition last night. They made bird feeders and talked about the type of seed in it and what birds might visit. They also made no-bake cookies with rolled oats, puffed millet, and sunflower seeds.

Cloverbuds Workshop for February: Food & Nutrition

Registration is now open for our February Cloverbuds Workshop! During this workshop, Cloverbuds will be introduced to healthy ingredients that humans (and birds!) like to eat. They’ll make a tasty no-bake cookie recipe using basic kitchen tools, and will also make a simple bird feeder to hang outside. They’ll also discover what types of birds to expect at their feeders, and why birds choose only some kinds of seeds.

This will be a virtual workshop and you’ll need to prepare some supplies in advance for the activities. We have a limited number of partial-supply kits available to pick up from the Extension Office.

To claim a kit: Register by February 12 and email Katie Daywalker to request the kit. If you are claiming a supply kit, we will email you on February 12 specifying the kit contents & what other supplies you will need to gather on your own. Kits will be available to pick up by appointment between February 15–19.
