Deadlines

2024 Fair Entry is OPEN through July 8

Fair Entry for the Larimer County Fair is open! The deadline to enter is Monday, July 8 at 11:59 p.m.

The link is larimercountyfair.fairentry.com. Log in using the 4HOnline account for your family.

The payment portal link for members who are showing livestock, dog, horse, poultry, or rabbits is found by clicking here.

Premium Books

The premium books for the 2024 Larimer County Fair are posted. These documents outline all of the divisions and classes available for each project, including what is required for submission and the class numbers to enter in the fair. Be sure to watch for Junior (8–10), Intermediate (11–13), and Senior (14–18) age divisions.

Click here for a help document, posted by The Ranch, that outlines the steps to enter on the Fair Entry site.

Livestock

All members will see a screen with questions about livestock projects. Livestock members are required to complete this page, but all others can skip past it.

Those with Livestock should be sure to include your premise ID.

Interview Judging

Scheduling a slot for interview judging is done within Fair Entry. After entering each of your projects, choose to Edit each project and find an appropriate time slot with a judge for the proper project and unit. We encourage members to participate in interview judging—it’s a great learning experience! However, members are not required to schedule an interview to enter their projects in the fair.

Tip: Take note of the times for each of your member’s interviews!

Don’t Hit Submit Until You’ve Entered All Members and Projects

Be sure to include all members and all projects before you submit! Once submitted, edits must be made manually with The Ranch’s fair office.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask via email at info@hch4h.org or via phone or text at 970-672-7368.

Livestock Weigh Days, Tagging, and MQA for 2024

Market Livestock Members: Mark these dates on your calendar now! Weigh days and tagging are REQUIRED to be eligible to show at the Larimer County Fair. If you can’t be there, you must arrange for someone to bring your animal.

Weigh Days will be held at the Youth and Community Building at The Ranch. Tagging supplies for swine will be available at the extension office starting on April 1.

Members enrolled in any market and/or breeding livestock project for the first time MUST attend a Colorado 4-H Meat Quality Assurance (MQA) program, regardless of age. 4-H members must attend a Colorado 4-H MQA program a minimum of twice during their 4-H career, once as a junior and again after becoming a senior 4-H member.

Watch for more information coming in January from the extension office for your project. And if you have any questions, please ask!

Club News for November 19

Thank You!

First, Cindy would like to thank everyone for their birthday wishes, flowers, and cupcakes at the club meeting. It was very special and appreciated.

Welcome!

I would also like to welcome all the new families who attended the meeting last Monday. We look forward to your membership and participation.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to all the 2021–2022 High Country Handiworkers who completed their projects. Our club members completed another successful year—a job WELL DONE!

Pick Up Projects by December 10

For those who did not attend the November meeting, I will bring your completion certificates and projects to the club meeting one last time in December. If I have your fair project, it would be helpful if you would come by our business, Construction Supply House at 806 North 2nd Street in Berthoud, and pick it up prior to the December meeting. It is a lot to load and unload. If I still have projects following the December 5th meeting, those projects will be disposed of on December 10th. I simply don’t have the space to store projects.

Food Project Meeting

Foods will meet on December 5th prior to the club meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.

December Meeting

Reminder, the December Club meeting has changed to December 5. We will be doing a club community service project, so it’s very important to attend. A community service project is required of every club member. Returning members: please sign up for a demonstration. We will also be holding officer elections.

Cloverbuds Meeting

The first Cloverbuds meeting of the new 4-H year will be this Monday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the McKee Building. Note the new location—we have outgrown my shop building.
