Livestock Weigh Days, Field Day, and MQA

Livestock members, please take note of the dates for upcoming weigh days and Field Day/MQA.

4-H members enrolling in any market and/or breeding livestock projects for the first time must attend a Colorado 4-H Meat Quality Assurance (MQA) program, regardless of age. For Larimer County, this will be offered at our Field Day on February 29 and May 15. 4-H members must attend a Colorado 4-H MQA program a minimum of twice during the course of their 4-H career, once as a junior and once again within one year after becoming a senior 4-H member. Members are encouraged to review the information and best practices found in the Colorado 4-H Meat Quality Assurance program annually.

4-H Carnival / Saturday, March 7, 2020

Ticket Sales

The 4-H carnival tickets are in! It is requested that each 4-H member sell 25 tickets. Tickets are only $1.00 each and this is the main fundraiser for the Larimer County 4-H Foundation, and our club receives a small percentage as well. Tickets will be ready for pickup at the club meeting on January 13. If you want more than 25 tickets to start, please contact Cindy before the meeting.

To help facilitate ticket sales, our club will be selling tickets at King Soopers (Thompson Valley Towne Center) from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9. We’d like to have 6 volunteers for each time slot of 1 1/2 hours. To sign up for a time slot, visit the Signups page.

Carnival Baskets for Auction

Our club will be creating two baskets for the auction. The basket themes as decided at the December meeting are Hunting/Camping and Dog Lovers. Please bring an item to be included in one or both of the baskets.

Carnival Booths

We will be selecting the games for our club booths at the January meeting.
