Turning Pens for the Troops / Sunday, November 3

Volunteer for this community service opportunity to create writing pens for the troops in honor of Veterans Day. No experience is necessary and High Country Handiworkers club members and Cloverbuds are welcome to participate.

We have two slots for each time between 10:00 am.–3:40 p.m. in 20-minute increments at Woodcraft. Go to the Signups page to pick your slot, and contact Cindy with any questions.

Club Announcements for October 30, 2018

Achievement Night is this Friday, November 2 beginning at 6:30 p.m. I hope you all plan on attending. There are members in our club who will be receiving awards so it would be great to show support to them. I also know there will be dessert. It starts with a slideshow, and there are pictures of several club members included. Join us in the exhibit hall at the McKee Building.

Our community service Turning Pens for the Troops will be on Sunday, November 4 at Woodcraft. Members including Cloverbuds and any new members are encouraged to come and turn a wood block into a beautiful pen to send to our service men and women. There is plenty of instruction available so no experience is necessary. Please sign up on the club website under Signups. If there is a time filled up and that is what works for you, email Cindy and we can probably work you in. We need to fill all the time slots as there are over 100 pens to create.

The Foods Project meeting for November will be held next Monday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the McKee building. Anyone interested in a foods project, please attend.

Enrollment is open! Please get signed up at any time. Remember, we have time to add or drop projects after signup if need be. Go to 4HOnline to complete signup. If you are a returning member, use your established username and password. If you are new, please create a username and password and remember it—you will use it throughout your 4-H career. Leaders, please follow the instructions to complete the refresher course and renew your enrollment as well.

Also, Outdoor Skills and Western Heritage are starting their meetings. If you have any questions please contact Jim Easthouse at 970-217-5833, or Jackie Easthouse at 303-548-6433 or jackie@coloradoinmotion.com.

Outdoor Skills meets this Thursday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Estes Park Room at the McKee building. Any members 4-H age 8 and up who are interested, please come see what we do. We have a bunch of new wildlife identification items!

Western Heritage meets on Monday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Berthoud Room at the McKee Building. Any members 4-H age 9 and up with prior 4-H shooting sports fire line experience (excluding Archery) who are interested in the Western Heritage project, please join us.
