Happy New Year, everyone! I thought we would start 2022 off with some fun!

Download the Winter Scavenger Hunt here. See how many items on the list you can find, then take a picture of it! (Make sure you put items back where you found them AFTER you have taken a photo.) Some of these photos might be able to be used in your project book, so make sure you save them somewhere in case you want to print them later. (You never know—one of these photos could end up being your favorite photo for your project book!)

Remember, this is for fun! Be creative, try different angles and different lighting. There is no right or wrong picture. YOU are the artist.

Even though we won’t have a meeting until March, you can expect to see regular emails from me soon. Once I have reviewed the e-records for 2022, you will begin to receive weekly “homework” emails. Don’t worry! Everything I send in those emails is exactly what you are turning in for your project for Fair. (This does not apply to Cloverbuds.) This is a very long project, and I found that it makes it easier to break everything down into little pieces. So take your time, read the directions, and have fun photographing!

Parents:

Please make sure to SAVE all photos taken by your child. You will be printing them for the Fair! Yes, even photos taken on cell phones will need to be printed. The kids have the option to use a camera phone or a DSLR.

I would LOVE to see the pictures taken for this scavenger hunt! Please email or text (970-690-2152) them to me. (Please include the child’s name so I know who took the photos.) I can provide gentle feedback and encouragement as they start the year. Even if they only do a few of the items, please encourage them to practice, practice, practice!

Photography Opportunities

Hello, everyone! My name is Jenelle Kemper and I am your Larimer County Photography Key Leader.

We will be kicking off the year in January, but there is always time to practice your photography skills. And the Holidays are the perfect time. Be creative, try new things. Below is a little bit of inspiration from “LightStalking”:

The holidays gift us with amazing photography opportunities. It’s up to us to get out there and capture the lights, color, gatherings, food, and holiday festivities. Our winter wonderlands can vary greatly depending on where we live. We may live in snow-laden terrain or sunny beaches. We may celebrate under the bright lights of a big city or country roads. Take advantage of the colorful and seasonal moments both day and night. Holiday bokeh adds a festive feeling to our photographs. Decorations with creative edits may provide a festive moment to capture.

Lightstalking

I hope you all enjoy your Holiday season and I look forward to meeting everyone soon! I would love to see any holiday photos you capture. Please feel free to email them to me: jen2481@gmail.com.
