Cake Decorating Demonstration at the Larimer County Fair
Kassidy Lines has been a 4-H member for 10 years and has completed several different cake decorating units. She is a Cake Decorating Champion and has been at both the county and state levels.
Kassidy loves to bake and display her creativity through decorating cakes. Join her as she shows off her skills and shares tips and tricks to decorate beautiful cakes. She will discuss some of the tools of the trade and what they are used for, the importance of good frosting consistency, and what inspires her ideas.

I’m excited to announce that registration is now open for three upcoming contests: Cake Decorating, Creative Cooks, and Public Speaking (Presentation).
The Cake Decorating Contest is for Cake Decorating members.
The Creative Cooks Contest & Public Presentation Contest are open to ALL 4-H members, including Cloverbuds.

- The Public Presentation Contest is open to all 4-H members, including Cloverbuds.
- Please review the attached Information Packet to learn more about the contest and review the rules.
- Attention Senior Members: If you plan to participate in one of the following divisions and are interested in competing at State Conference in June should you qualify, you must register for that Contest Division at State Conference before the May 15th deadline. We will discuss the next steps with you after the contest on June 4th depending on whether you qualify. You will not owe payment for State Conference prior to determining whether you qualify at the contest on June 4th.

Cake Decorating Orientation / January 17
Enrolling in Cake Decorating or thinking about it?
Attend the orientation on Monday, January 17th at 6:30 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall in the McKee 4-H Building at The Ranch.
You do not need to bring any supplies to this meeting. Just come see what it’s about!
Intro to Cake Decorating

If you are enrolled or you’re thinking about enrolling in Leathercraft, there is a workshop on Thursday from 4:00–5:00 p.m. This is a good opportunity to meet with Bryant Miller to discuss the project and learn about the opportunities and levels (units) you might be interested in.

Turn Pens for the Troops

Woodcraft of Loveland, 3718 Draft Horse Drive, Loveland
In honor of servicemen and women, Woodcraft is hosting a wood pen turning event. This is not a 4-H event but it will count for community service. There is no signup. Cake decorating will hold a meeting to begin the year at 6:30 p.m. If you are enrolled in cake decorating or you’re thinking about enrolling in cake decorating, attend the workshop. You can come over to the club meeting after cake decorating is over.

Our club’s meeting for November will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. We’ll be doing our club’s achievement night for awards and certificates to members for accomplishments from the past year. Whether you’re a long-time member, or you’re new to 4-H and want to see what it’s about, plan to attend! (Those attending the cake decorating kick-off can plan to come whenever that workshop concludes.)
