I hope that you all are doing well and excited to be involved with different workshop opportunities leading up to the county fair with your project animal. You are more than welcome to attend these opportunities without having an animal present.

Along with that, we are also approaching the May 31 deadline for you to submit pictures of your animal on 4HOnline. We are asking that you submit a profile view. Please find instruction sheets for each species below.

Poultry

Poultry members, we are still working with the State Extension Office and communicating with the State Vet to gain a better understanding of this virus and how it is going to impact the shows at the Larimer County Fair. Please refer to the multiple emails sent out earlier this month pertaining to HPAI and preventative steps that should be taken to reduce infection of your flocks. Livestock Weigh Days, Field Day, and MQA

Livestock members, please take note of the dates for upcoming weigh days and Field Day/MQA.

4-H members enrolling in any market and/or breeding livestock projects for the first time must attend a Colorado 4-H Meat Quality Assurance (MQA) program, regardless of age. For Larimer County, this will be offered at our Field Day on February 29 and May 15. 4-H members must attend a Colorado 4-H MQA program a minimum of twice during the course of their 4-H career, once as a junior and once again within one year after becoming a senior 4-H member. Members are encouraged to review the information and best practices found in the Colorado 4-H Meat Quality Assurance program annually.

Here is the schedule for Livestock Field Day’s workshops

2020 Livestock Field Day
